I resonate with what you wrote. That subscription fatigue is so real, beyond just networking. Your move to Ubiquiti for ownership-based solutions makes perfect sense. It truly highlights how crucial accesible, reliable infrastructure is for innovation, especially for smaller businesses or educational setups. Brilliant insights.

Thanks so much, Rainbow Roxy! You've hit on something that extends way beyond just networking gear: This subscription creep has infiltrated almost every aspect of technology infrastructure. What used to be a one-time purchase with occasional upgrades has become this endless stream of recurring costs.

Your mention of educational setups really resonates with me. I've thought about this a lot in the context of schools and makerspaces. When you're trying to teach kids about networking, security, or infrastructure, the barrier to entry shouldn't be ongoing licensing fees. Ubiquiti's model makes it feasible to build genuinely capable networks on educational budgets without sacrificing features or teaching opportunities.

If you ever write about educational infrastructure needs in the context of AI/CS education, I'd love to read it. There's definitely overlap between accessible networking and accessible computing resources for students.

Thanks for reading and for the thoughtful comment!
